Derrick Hassert

Derrick Hassert, PhD, serves as faculty at the Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy at Loyola University Chicago and as adjunct faculty at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. Derrick holds the position of Chair of the Division of Psychology and Professor at Trinity Christian College, teaching courses in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, psychopharmacology, and more, while also overseeing departmental governance. Additionally, Derrick provides psychoanalytic and mindfulness-based psychotherapy as a licensed clinical professional counselor. Prior experiences include postdoctoral research fellowships at the University of Virginia and the University of Illinois at Chicago, focusing on nerve stimulation research. Derrick earned a PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Brain and Cognitive Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
