Shanna Whitney has a diverse work experience in the arts and education field. Shanna started their career as a professional singer, performing in opera and musical theater companies across the USA. In 2012, they worked as a facilitator and curriculum consultant for Carnegie Hall, where they were responsible for the nationwide implementation of the Music Explorer Program. Shanna also served as a professional development leader and brand ambassador for the program. In 2013, they joined Trinity Church Wall Street as a Co Director and Lead Teaching Artist. In this role, they developed professional development curriculum, mentored teaching artists, and taught weekly classes. Since 2015, they have been working at The Juilliard School as a Curriculum Specialist. Shanna'sresponsibilities include crafting curriculum, developing developmental programming, and designing class materials and lesson plans in collaboration with colleagues.
Shanna Whitney holds a Master's degree in Music/Voice from the Manhattan School of Music. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at SUNY Geneseo, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Music and Interpersonal Communications.
