Prof. James Dwan

Prof. James (Jim) Dwan is a distinguished expert in materials engineering and forensic analysis with extensive experience in both academia and industry. As the Founder and Principal of Dwan Forensic Engineering since May 2015, James specializes in failure analysis of materials and mechanical components, serving as an expert witness. Concurrently, James holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor of Materials Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on research and consulting in materials failure analysis. Prior roles include lecturing on materials engineering at Technological University Dublin, working as a Senior Applications Research Engineer at Boart Longyear, and managing diamond synthesis processes at GE Superabrasives.
