Daniel J. Roth is executive vice president and chief clinical officer responsible for leading Trinity Health's clinical operations. This includes all of the associated acute and continuing care clinical activities and initiatives related to patient safety, quality care improvement, patient experience, care redesign and related clinical informatics. He is responsible for overseeing Trinity Health's clinical performance improvement and evidence-based care initiatives and works closely with our contracting team on episode of care/bundled payment initiatives. He is also accountable for community health and well-being where work focuses on addressing social influencers of health, health equity, and implementing programs to improve health in the communities we serve.

Roth joined Trinity Health in 2015 as chief medical officer and chief operating officer of Trinity Health Partners. In this capacity, Roth supported the strategy for alternative payment models including full risk. Prior to joining Trinity Health, Roth served as chief medical officer for Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his eight years with Mercy Health, he served in several physician leadership roles including president of Mercy Health Physicians and chief medical information officer with Catholic Health Partners. Roth spent eight years as a full-time attending physician in internal medicine and continued working as a practicing physician until January 2015. Roth has received numerous awards for health care innovation, outreach and patient safety. He served on the board of trustees for Mercy Health Select and also was a member of the board of trustees of CHP Insurance Ltd.

Roth earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and served as chief medical resident at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He is a member of the American College of Physicians.
