Ryan Tanakaya has extensive work experience in the field of network planning, engineering, and analysis. Ryan currently holds the position of Network Planner at US Army Japan G6 since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Tripler Army Medical Center for many years, starting as a Senior Network Engineer in 2007 and later becoming the Chief of TAMC Networking in 2019. In these roles, Ryan was responsible for overseeing and managing the enterprise tri-service network operations, security, and support. Before their time at Tripler Army Medical Center, Ryan worked as a Technical Analyst at Hawaii Pacific Health from 2005 to 2007.
Ryan Tanakaya received their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Management Information Systems, General from the University of Hawaiʻi - Shidler College of Business, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained an associate degree in Computer Networking from Honolulu Community College, studying there from 1998 to 2001. In 2015, they also obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2.
