Jacob Miller

Jacob Miller serves as Senior Counsel at Tristan & Cervantes in the area of government affairs. Mr. Miller specializes in counseling clients through the challenges presented by the matrix of federal, state, and local laws, public policy, and regulation. Mr. Miller draws upon his vast government experience, including working for both the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois, in counseling his clients.

Before joining Tristan & Cervantes, Mr. Miller served as legal counsel to Speaker of the House, Michael Madigan and as the Director for Personnel for The Illinois Department of Transportation, where he was subsequently promoted to the Illinois Capital Development Board as the Deputy General Counsel. Additionally, he served as Associate General Counsel for the Office of the Governor, where he oversaw the legislative affairs for important policy initiatives for both the Office of the Governor, as well as various state agencies. Finally, upon leaving government, Mr. Miller founded his own practice and worked as counsel to a Chicago area business and government law firm. Mr. Miller is experienced at representing clients on a wide range of issues in state and federal trial and appellate courts, in state legislatures, and before regulatory agencies.
