Helene Millenaar

Helene Millenaar has a strong background in risk and compliance, with extensive experience in global organizations. Helene is currently working as the Global Director of Risk & Compliance at Trivium Packaging since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Global Risk and Compliance Director at Centrient Pharmaceuticals from October 2019 to September 2022. In this role, they implemented compliance programs and handled regulatory compliance issues. Before that, from January 2018 to October 2019, they were the Director of Global Head of Investigations and Competition Law at Nouryon, where they conducted internal investigations and provided competition law support. Helene also held the position of Director of Competition Law at AkzoNobel from March 2011 to December 2017. Helene started their career as an Associate at Clifford Chance LLP from January 2000 to December 2004 and later served as a Senior Associate at Stibbe from January 2006 to February 2011.

Helene Millenaar has an extensive education history. Helene began their education at the University of Leiden, where they obtained a Master's degree in Law from 1990 to 1996. Helene later pursued a Postgraduate degree in European Law at Queen Mary University of London from 1996 to 1997, supported by a Leverhulme-scholarship from the European Patent Office. In 2009, they completed a Mini-MBA in Business Administration and Management at INSEAD. Moving forward, from 2015 to 2017, they attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and earned an Executive Master of Compliance (EMoC), focusing on executive master compliance and integrity management. In 2019, they further enhanced their knowledge in privacy protection by completing the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) program offered by The International Association of Privacy Professionals. Lastly, in 2020, they attended Nyenrode Business University for a short-term program in Risk and Compliance.
