Frank Maguire

Dr. Frank "Mac" Maguire joined TriWest in 2003. Dr. Maguire is currently TriWest’s Chief Network Officer with a focus on provider network development, contracting and credentialing, provider education and relations, and implementing contract modifications and process improvements. For 15 years prior, he served as TriWest’s Chief Medical Officer. His TriWest experience included directing and coordinating network development, referral management, contact center operations, appointing, medical management, behavioral health and clinical quality.

Having retired from the Navy after a long and distinguished career, Mac has a strong background in health care administration within the Military Health System. He served as the Deputy Commander at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda and as Executive Assistant to the Surgeon General of the Navy. He also served at both the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and as Chief of Staff of the TRICARE Management Activity, which oversaw the defense health program, including 75 military hospitals, 460 clinics and civilian Managed Care Support Contractors providing medical and dental care to over 8.7 million beneficiaries.

Mac completed his M.D. at the University of Illinois and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians.
