What began as a global network of volunteer translators is evolving into something broader — a community where communication, research, and social innovation meet.

Our original goal was to make the TRL documents accessible to everyone, in every language — following the spirit of the most translated text in history, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Today, we’re taking the next step: helping ideas, discoveries, and public-interest campaigns cross not only language barriers, but disciplinary and cultural ones as well.

Members of the TRL Pro Bono Community contribute their skills — linguistic, analytical, creative, or technical — to help make knowledge open, inclusive, and actionable. Whether translating, interpreting data, or supporting citizen science initiatives, our shared purpose remains the same: to connect people through understanding and to strengthen the sense of global humanity that lives in each of us.
