James Stewart, Ph.D.

James Stewart, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. James is the CEO and Founder of TrojAI Inc., a position they have held since 2020. Prior to this, James served as the SVP Video Analytics at Patriot One Technologies Inc. from 2018 to 2020. James was also the CEO and Founder of EhEye, a company specializing in automated video surveillance SaaS systems, which was acquired by Patriot One Technologies during their tenure from 2016 to 2018.

Before their time at Patriot One Technologies, James worked as the Lead Data Scientist at Raytheon Canada, a position they held from 2015 to 2016. James also served as the Manager of Research and Development at the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity from 2014 to 2015.

From 1998 to 2015, James worked as a Lecturer at the University of New Brunswick. During this time, they also held the role of Senior Network Intelligence Analyst at Bell Aliant from 2012 to 2014.

Additionally, James has experience as the Manager of Crime Analyst at the Saint John Police Force from 2008 to 2012. In this role, they provided strategic leadership and implemented intelligence-led policing programs, achieving significant reductions in crime. James also conducted research, implemented technologies, and served as a cybercrime subject-matter expert.

Prior to their career in the field of cybersecurity and analytics, James worked as a Software Engineer for various companies from 2000 to 2010.

James Stewart, Ph.D. received their education from the University of New Brunswick. James first obtained a Bachelor of Science in Data Analysis in 1997, with a focus on math, statistics, and computer science. James then pursued a Master of Computer Science, specializing in numerical methods and high-speed computing, which they completed in 1999. Finally, they earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a concentration in software engineering and data mining in 2017.

In addition to their academic achievements, James Stewart has also obtained several certifications. In 2001, they became an NCCP Coach, Level One Rugby, through the Coaching Association of Canada. In 2008, they obtained two certifications: Member of International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) and Provincial B Judo Referee through Judo New Brunswick.
