Simon Francis has extensive work experience in the IT service management field. Simon is currently employed as the Vice President of IT Service Management at Tronox since January 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as the Regional IT Director for the APAC region at Tronox from November 2021 to March 2023.
Before joining Tronox, Simon held various roles at different companies. From 2018 to 2021, they worked at Kinetic IT as the Service Director, responsible for the management of all managed services provided to a large utilities provider. Simon also served as the Operations Manager at Kinetic IT, overseeing the Security, Network, Enterprise Tooling, and Facilities Management teams.
Prior to Kinetic IT, Simon worked at ASG Group from 2015 to 2018, where they held positions as the National Enterprise Services Manager and the Service Improvement Manager. In these roles, they focused on continuous service improvement initiatives and provided ITIL consultancy for clients in the energy, mining, and financial sectors.
Simon's earlier experiences include serving as the IT Service Management Lead for Chevron from 2013 to 2015 and as the Infrastructure Manager at Kinetic IT for the Department of Child Protection from 2012 to 2013.
Furthermore, Simon worked at BankWest from 2008 to 2012, where they held positions as the Manager of Service Delivery, IT & Change, and the Manager of Major Incident Management. Simon was responsible for managing major incidents, recruitment, performance management, and ITIL process ownership.
Simon's career began at J.P. Morgan in 2005 as a Major Incident Manager, supporting the EMEA region and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Prior to that, they were employed at BT Global Services as a Service Delivery Manager, leading a team that provided support for Europe's largest IT project and managing incidents within strict SLAs.
Before entering the IT industry, Simon served as a Royal Marines Commando from 1995 to 2002.
Simon Francis attended John Cleveland College from 1990 to 1994. Simon obtained various certifications including ITIL V4 - Managing Professional from AXELOS Global Best Practice in August 2021, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in January 2020, Mental Health First Aid from St John WA in August 2019, and ITIL Expert from itSMF Australia in June 2017. Simon also earned several ITIL certifications and completed ITIL Foundation V3 from OGC in January 2009. In addition, they obtained ITIL - Incident & Service Desk Practitioner from OGC in August 2005 and ITIL - Foundation V2 from OGC in April 2004.
