Willem van Niekerk

Willem van Niekerk currently serves as Director at Tronox Mineral Sands (PTY) LTD since June 2021 and has held the position of SVP Strategy at Tronox Limited since March 2018, focusing on strategic planning and corporate strategy implementation on a global scale. With extensive experience at Tronox since 2012, Willem also held leadership roles at Exxaro, including Executive General Manager of Corporate Services and General Manager of Marketing & Business Development. Previous positions include management roles at Zincor, Kumba Resources, and Iscor Heavy Minerals. Willem holds a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, an MBA from Henley Business School, a B.Com in Economics from the University of South Africa, and completed an Executive Development Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
