Ben Simms has a diverse work experience in the field of international development. Ben is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving education and healthcare services in low- and middle-income countries. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of STOPAIDS, a network of UK agencies working on the global response to HIV and AIDS.
Ben has also held leadership positions in various organizations, including being the Chair of the Disability & Development Group (DDG) at Bond UK, where they led advocacy efforts in the build-up to the 2010 General Election. Ben was also the Head of International Development and Director of Sue Ryder International at Sue Ryder Care.
Furthermore, Ben has been actively involved in research and advisory roles, including being a member of the Programs Advisory Group for the KaR/Department for International Development research program and Chair of the BOND East Europe/Central Asia Working Group at Bond UK.
Throughout their career, Ben has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting inclusive development and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities.
Ben Simms earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History (MA (Hons)) from The University of Edinburgh in 1988. Ben later pursued a Master of Science degree in International Development from The Open University, completing it in 2002.
