Trotec, where food becomes feed. Every year, about one third of all food produced for human consumption goes to waste. Even if consumers are responsible for the largest part of food waste, the food industry, retail and wholesale trade are also accountable for almost a quarter of food waste. By transforming vegetable by-products from industrial food companies into animal feed, Trotec offers a valuable solution to this problem. This concerns products that are unsold or automatically generated during production. These by-products are processed in an ecological way into a valuable, safe and sustainable raw material for the compound feed industry. In this way, we succeed in keeping food that is not suitable for human consumption within the food chain (food-feed-food). Trotec also specialized in the safe, efficient and sustainable processing and unpacking of different types of packaging. In this manner, we go for total recycling, because both the packaging and the former foodstuff are given a second life at Trotec, nothing goes to waste. Thanks to a strong logistics organization and continuous technological innovation, Trotec has become the market leader in the processing of by-products. More than 400 industrial food companies in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Germany collaborate with Trotec for the processing of their by-products.
