Els de Baan has extensive experience in the fields of textile, fashion, and costume, with current roles as a docent at Vrije Academie and taxateur at Antiekcheck.nl. Since 2011, significant contributions have been made to Changeant through taxations, lectures, research, and publications. Additionally, work as a fashion journalist for Trouw has been ongoing since 2002. Involved with the Nederlandse Kostuumvereniging since 2005, Els de Baan also conducts tours at Museum De Lakenhal. Previous teaching roles have included positions at Willem de Kooning Academy and Royal Academy of Art, alongside participating in advisory capacities for the Textielcommissie. Academic qualifications include degrees in Kunstgeschiedenis from Leiden University and a teaching certification in Textile Techniques and Handicrafts.

Trouw

Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly'​ and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping'​ with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter&Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.
