Isabel Baneke has extensive experience in journalism, particularly in the areas of police, justice, culture, media, economy, and domestic affairs. Since October 2014, Isabel has been a journalist at Trouw, with roles ranging from editor to reporter across various editorial departments. Prior freelance journalism work includes contributions to Dagblad van het Noorden and Dichtbij.nl. Isabel held the position of ambassador for VeerStichting, focusing on anxiety themes and organizing symposiums for students. Previous marketing roles at Red Bull included promoting the brand through creative events and sampling initiatives. Leadership experience includes serving as chair of the Gala Committee for Stichting Scholieren Gala Breda and organizing youth events with BH & BC Breda. Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly' and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping' with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter&Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.
