Judith Harmsen

Politiek Verslaggever at Trouw

Judith Harmsen is a skilled journalist with extensive experience at Trouw since March 2019, where roles include Verslaggever zorg and Verslaggever lokale democratie, with a focus on healthcare and local democracy. Prior to this, Judith contributed to RTV Utrecht as a freelance journalist and planner, producing radio and television content. Other significant roles include working as a Coördinator Trainingen op Maat at the Landelijke Studentenvakbond and various positions in student organizations. Judith holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Amsterdam, a minor in Journalism from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences and Religious Studies from University College Utrecht. Early education was completed at Stichtse Vrije School Zeist.

Trouw

Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly'​ and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping'​ with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter&Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.
