Currently serving as an Online Editor and Final Editor at Trouw since May 2010, Thaloen has held significant editorial roles at various reputable organizations, including Het Parool and AD NieuwsMedia. Thaloen's career began as a trainee at ING Nederland and included a position as a researcher at Aeromedisch Instituut. Thaloen's academic background encompasses two Master of Arts degrees in Psychology from the University of Amsterdam and coursework at New York University.

Trouw

Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly'​ and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping'​ with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter&Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.
