Sean Donovan-Smith

Sean Donovan-Smith has extensive work experience in the legal and financial services industries. Sean currently serves as a Partner and Head of UK FS Regulatory and Investment Funds at Trowers & Hamlins since 2022. Previously, they worked at Locke Lord LLP as a Consultant in Investment Advisers and Alternative Funds from 2017 to 2022, and as the Co-head of Global Investment Advisers and Alternative Funds Group from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, they held various positions at K&L Gates from 2012 to 2017, including Partner and Head of Investment Management and Funds London, as well as Partner in Financial Services Public Policy and Government Affairs. Sean worked at Speechly Bircham as a Senior Assistant and Team Lead for Alternative Funds from 2009 to 2012, and at Katten Muchin Rosenman Cornish LLP as a Solicitor from 2006 to 2009. Sean began their career as a Solicitor at KLegal LLP from 2003 to 2006, and as a Consultant at CSTIM from 2002 to 2003. Prior to that, they were an Associate Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Invesco Ltd. from 1998 to 2002.

Sean Donovan-Smith completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1992 to 1995. Sean then pursued a Master of Letters degree in Management, Economics & Politics at the University of St Andrews from 1995 to 1996. Additionally, they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice from The College of Law from 1998 to 2002.
