Joshua Portinga is a seasoned Senior R&D Design Engineer at Troy-CSL Lighting since July 2016, where contributions include the patented GyroShift design system and the innovative Whisper series optical and thermal management systems. Prior to this role, Joshua owned and operated LED-By-Design from October 2014 to July 2016, providing consulting services and managing product lines for LED street light bulbs. Earlier experience includes a position as Design Engineer at Environmental Lighting for Architecture, Inc from May 2009 to September 2014, focusing on custom light fixtures, pioneering LED lighting solutions, and coordinating overseas manufacturing. Joshua holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Product Design from California State University, Long Beach, obtained between 2008 and 2011.
