Abdulwasiu Hassan

Abdulwasiu Hassan is an experienced multimedia journalist currently serving as a Senior Digital Producer at TRT World since February 2023. Previously, Abdulwasiu worked at BBC World Service from January 2017 to February 2023, holding positions as SBJ (Social Media) for BBC Yoruba and as a Multimed Broadcast Journalist for BBC Hausa, specializing in all aspects of multimedia journalism. From November 2013 to December 2016, Abdulwasiu was the Deputy Online-Editor at Media Trust Nigeria Limited, focusing on shooting, producing, and editing stories for the Daily Trust and its sister publications. Earlier in their career, Abdulwasiu worked as an Online Reporter for Daily Trust from December 2010 to November 2013, where multimedia news and features were produced. Abdulwasiu began professional experience as an intern/reporter at NTA Gombe between 2005 and 2009, covering news and producing a sports program. Abdulwasiu holds a BSc. in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2004-2008).
