Matt Richter has been working in the IT field for over 7 years. Matt started their career as a systems engineer at BC Networks in October 2013. There, they were the lead engineer for multiple SMB companies and was responsible for meeting with clients to define project requirements, scope out projects, and manage them to completion. Matt also built and maintained VMware ESXi and vCenter servers, Windows Server environments leveraging Active Directory and Group Policy, and networks using Fortinet Firewalls and APs, Brocade, and Extreme switches. In addition, Matt worked with clients to set support processes and procedures and provided Tier 2/3 support for network and server systems. Matt also led the charge on end-user virtualized environments, specifically RDS and VDI.
In July 2020, Matt took on a new role as Senior IT Support Specialist at TruAdvantage. In this role, they are responsible for providing leadership and mentoring for Tier 1 support, helping configure and maintain the Remote Monitoring and Management System, automating repeatable processes and procedures leveraging tools such as scripts, powershell, and Group Policy, maintaining client backups using Datto and Veeam, configuring MS Azure MFA and Intune MDM, configuring and maintaining MS Office 365, and performing basic Linux tasks such as updating applications and installing printers.
Matt Richter graduated with a BA in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Matt then went on to get their certification from Jamf in the Jamf 300 class.
