Joel Russell has held various positions in the field of data management and enterprise analytics since 2006. Joel began their career at TRUEMETRICS, where they served as Sr Partner and Founder. In this role, they provided global brands with best practices in data management and enterprise analytics platforms and created data integrity solutions. In 2016, they became Co-Founder and CEO of TAGLYNX LLC, an enterprise-level campaign link building solution.

From 2006 to 2013, Joel worked as a Digital Analytics Consultant for Disney Movie Club, DreamWorks Animation, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. At Disney Movie Club, they provided data strategy, implementation, and reporting services. At DreamWorks Animation, they created a roadmap for measurement and data delivery and guided senior management in a new analytic tool selection process. At Sony Pictures Entertainment, they were a Digital Analytic Consultant.

From 2010 to 2015, Joel was a Web Analytics Consultant for Hasbro, SONY PS, The Great Courses, and Fox. At Hasbro, they provided Adobe SiteCatalyst reporting and tracking code QA. At SONY PS, they provided a comprehensive weekly study of traffic sources and visitor behaviors. At The Great Courses, they created and delivered executive dashboards in IBM Coremetrics. At Fox, they provided digital analytic services for live streaming products.

In 2010, Joel was an Analytics Consultant for Sears Holdings Corporation. In this role, they created a strategy for reporting and insight with the Shop Your Way Rewards website and segmented traffic sources to improve strategy and marketing initiatives.

Joel Russell has a long and varied educational history. Joel obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from Gordon College in Accounting and Business/Management between 1978 and 1980. Joel then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Massachusetts in Liberal Arts, Arts Administration and Creative Writing between 1982 and 1987. Joel also obtained a BFA from UMass Boston in Creative Writing and Photography between 1982 and 1986. Finally, they earned an MFA from The American Film Institute in Screenwriting between 1992 and 1994. In addition, they have obtained 20,000 hours of hard work in the real world in the areas of Husbanding 101, Data Mining 102, and Off-Shoring 103.
