Steve Carlson

Steve Carlson has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to 2022. Steve currently serves as the President of TrueML, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to that, they had roles at various companies and organizations. From 2017 to 2021, they were the Executive Chair and CEO of ForwardLine Financial, where they led the company's digital transformation and achieved significant growth in loan originations. Steve also served as an advisor at Flow Networks and Cota Capital in 2022 and 2021, respectively. Additionally, Steve worked as a Strategic Consultant, providing consultancy to fintech firms and PE funds, from 2021 to 2022. Before that, they were an Investor at Variance Development Partners from 2012 to 2021. Steve co-founded Ascend Consumer Finance in 2014 and served as its CEO until 2017. Steve was also a member of the Consumer Advisory Board at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2012 to 2016 and an advisor at Level Money from 2013 to 2014.

Steve Carlson attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, where they completed an MBA with a concentration in Marketing and Finance. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Steve graduated from Naperville Central, although the degree and field of study are unspecified.
