Ian Roughley

Ian Roughley is the VP of Engineering at TrueNorth. Ian has over two decades of experience in the software engineering field. Ian has held various positions at companies such as Behavox, ClimaCell, and Ameriprise Auto & Home. In their most recent role at Behavox, they were responsible for leading the API & platform-side for a comparative rater project. This was a greenfield initiative needed to retain customers in the $1B acquisition of Ameriprise Auto & Home by American Family. Ian was successful in delivering the project on-time and under budget.

Ian is a skilled leader and problem solver. Ian is able to build a culture of aligned goals and communication, and scale organizations to over 40 engineers. Ian is also experienced in mentoring new tech leads/managers and increasing discipline to enable sprint-based production deployments. Ian is knowledgeable in a variety of programming languages and technologies, including Java, JavaScript, Node, AWS, Docker, and Terraform.

Ian Roughley completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from The University of Queensland.
