Karim Budhwani

Karim Budhwani is a seasoned executive with extensive experience, currently serving as the CEO of CerFlux since May 2018, where efforts focus on developing disease models and improving cancer treatment efficacy. Additionally, Karim co-founded and leads elixir international, dedicated to fostering a greener and more efficient world through innovative software solutions. Karim holds a significant leadership role as Chair of BIO Alabama, providing strategic direction and governance, and collaborates with various organizations in positions such as Editorial Board member for Nature | npj Drug Discovery and Medical Advisory Council member for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. Academic involvement includes serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Guest Lecturer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Educational achievements include a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, a Master of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering, and a Doctor of Liberal Arts, complemented by a Bachelor's degree graduating Magna Cum Laude.
