Kim Allen

Kim Allen has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years.

Starting in 2005, they worked as an Assistant Agricultural Instructor at the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems.

In 2007, they joined Berkeley Youth Alternatives as a Garden Program Manager, where they supervised and trained high school interns and managed urban gardens.

From 2008 to 2013, Kim held the role of Conference Coordinator and Advisory Council Member at Rooted in Community.

In 2012, they became an Instructor at SAGE - Sustainable Agriculture Education, staying with the organization until 2016.

During this time, in 2013, they also worked as a Garden Educator at Urban Sprouts for a short period.

In 2015, they attended Dev Bootcamp as a Student Web Developer.

In 2016, they interned as a Web Development Intern at Caravan Studios, a division of TechSoup.

Additionally, in the same year, they worked as an Implementation Manager at Wisdom Labs, Inc.

From 2016 to 2018, they were a Software Engineer at VectorCare Inc., responsible for implementing redesigns, new features, testing, and bug fixes.

Currently, Kim Allen works as a Software Engineer at Truss, starting in 2018.

Kim Allen completed a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture from the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at UC Santa Cruz in 2005. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, in 2011 to 2012, they attended the San Francisco School of Massage, where they studied Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage. Kim also holds various certifications, including a Wilderness First Responder certification from the Wilderness Medicine Institute, a 40 Hour Conflict Resolution and Community Mediation Certification from the SEEDS Community Resolution Center, and a Certified Massage Practitioner certification from the California Massage Therapy Council. Furthermore, they have a certification in Permaculture Design from the Permaculture Design Institute.
