Jennifer Johnston is an experienced educator specializing in visual impairments, currently serving as a Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired at Trussville City Schools since April 2018. With a career spanning from 2005 to the present at Jefferson County Board of Education as an English Teacher for grades 11 and 12, Jennifer also has a background as a consultant for UAB Vision Science Research, focusing on public awareness and teaching individuals with visual impairments. Previously, Jennifer held roles as a Copy Editor for Newbanks and as Program Director at Liz Moore Low Vision Center, where responsibilities included directing arts programs and support groups for individuals with low vision. Academically, Jennifer holds a Master's degree in Special Education/Visual Impairment from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and two degrees in English from Samford University.
