Hillary Zhao, RA, AIA, is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience in design and construction management. Currently serving as Senior Project Manager at the Trust for Governors Island since September 2021, Hillary previously held roles as Senior Architectural Designer at CTA Architects P.C., Project Designer at SUPERSTRUCTURES Engineers + Architects, and Architectural Designer at Perez, APC, where responsibilities included managing design projects, post-Sandy housing recovery efforts, and business development. Hillary's academic background includes a Master of Architecture from The City College of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from New York University. Additionally, experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Spitzer School of Architecture and an architectural intern at Ole Sondresen Architect further highlights a commitment to education and sustainable design practices.

The Trust for Governors Island is a nonprofit corporation created by The City of New York that is responsible for the redevelopment and operation of 150 acres of Governors Island. The Trust’s mission is to transform Governors Island into a vibrant resource for New York City, making this island at the center of New York Harbor a destination with extraordinary public open space, as well as educational, not-for-profit and commercial facilities.
