John Colbert possesses extensive experience in policy advisement and communications within the labor sector. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor in legal services specializing in employment law at the Communication Workers Union since July 2024, Colbert also contributes as a lay member of the GMB Central Executive Council. A co-opted member of Trust For London since June 2019, Colbert plays a significant role in addressing poverty and inequality through charitable funding. Previous positions include Marketing & Communications Manager at UnionLine and member-nominated trustee of the CWU 2000 Pension Scheme. Colbert began the career at the Communication Workers Union, progressively advancing through various roles focused on communications and campaigns from 2006 to March 2016. Education was completed at Radcliffe in Milton Keynes from 1978 to 1982.
