Dorothee de Backer has over two decades of experience in product marketing and management roles. Dorothee most recently served as the Head of Product & Marketing at Trust International B.V., where they were responsible for product strategy, R&D, quality design, category management, and customer support. Prior to this, they held various positions at HARMAN International, including Product Marketing Director and Global Category Director, where they led product marketing teams and developed strategies for the Consumer Lifestyle line-up. Dorothee also worked as an Owner at Dormar Marketing Solutions, providing interim marketing management and consultancy services to SMEs. Additionally, they have experience as a part-time lecturer at Hogeschool TIO and a marketing executive at VODW Marketing. Dorothee started their career as a Product Marketing Director at Commodore International Corporation and a Senior Marketing Manager at Philips DAP, where they were responsible for successful product launches and new business development.
Dorothee de Backer earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences from 1991 to 1995. Dorothee later pursued a Master of Science in Management & Business Development, with a specialization in innovation, from Open Universiteit between 2015 and 2017.
