Islam Hussein

Director of Research and Development at Trusted Space

Islam Hussein has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Islam is currently the Director of Research and Development at Trusted Space, Inc. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President - Space Systems at Thornton Tomasetti, where they led the Space Systems group and focused on advanced space systems solutions. Islam also worked as a Senior R&D Engineer at L3Harris Technologies and as a Senior R&D Scientist at L3 Applied Defense Solutions. Before that, they held the position of Senior Research Scientist at L3 ADS. Islam has also worked as a Senior Faculty Fellow with the Air Force Research Laboratory at the National Academy of Sciences. Islam started their career as an Assistant Professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Islam Hussein attended The American University in Cairo from 1995 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, Islam Hussein pursued further education at the University of Michigan from 2000 to 2005, completing a PhD in Aerospace Engineering.
