Aaron Wheeler has been working in various roles since 1997. Aaron began as a Merchandise Associate at Walt Disney World, then moved to a Planner role at the City of Henderson in 2000. In 2002, they became an Associate Planner at the Village of Royal Palm Beach, followed by a Zoning Administrator role at Fayette County in 2004. From 2006 to 2012, they were the Owner of Geo-Di Electric Inc. During this time, they also interned at Cherry, Bekaert & Holland. In 2013, they were an Auditor at the Auditor of Public Accounts, and then in 2015 they became an Internal Auditor and Internal Audit Senior at the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services. Most recently, they have been a Senior Auditor at the Virginia Office of the State Inspector General since 2018, and is currently a Security Consultant at Truvantis, Inc.
Aaron Wheeler received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting from Old Dominion University between 2010 and 2012. Aaron also obtained a BA in Political Science from Auburn University between 1995 and 1999. Aaron has also achieved several certifications, including a Certificate of Achievement in Cybersecurity Professional Bootcamp from Old Dominion University in January 2022, a Computer Networking certification from Old Dominion University in January 2022, a Microsoft Security certification from Old Dominion University in January 2022, a Certified Inspector General Inspector/Evaluator from the ASSOCIATION OF INSPECTORS GENERAL in March 2020, and a Virginia Contracting Officer certification from the Virginia Institute of Procurement.
