Oscar Papel

Oscar Papel is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in engineering and information security. Currently serving as the VP Engineering and Chief Information Security Officer at Truveta since September 2020, Oscar is a founding team member responsible for delivering platform architecture and leading multiple teams in infrastructure and machine learning operations. Prior to this role, Oscar worked at Square as the Engineering Director for the Knowledge/AI Platform, enhancing product teams' capabilities with a world-class machine learning platform. Oscar's extensive tenure at Microsoft spanned over a decade, where roles included Principal Group Engineering Manager for Azure Machine Learning and engineering leadership positions focused on commerce and mobile services. Earlier career experience includes heading software development at Empix Imaging, delivering innovative solutions in medical image analysis. Oscar holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo.
