Tianhe Yang has extensive work experience as a software developer and designer. They began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Rice University in 2007 and later worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from 2008 to 2009.
In 2012, Yang joined Design Element as a Web Designer, Graphic Designer, and Online Marketer, where they designed and developed the company's website and handled various marketing and sales tasks. They then transitioned to EdgeCast as a Design Associate, where they built custom user interfaces, rebranded client-facing materials, and maintained corporate web properties.
Yang joined NationBuilder in 2014 as a Software Developer, where they designed and built custom responsive user interfaces and integrated front-end applications with server-side platforms. They also implemented and maintained public themes for the company.
Next, Yang worked at Tagboard.com in 2015 as a Software Developer, focusing on designing and developing social media screens for events and venues. They also created a browser extension for curating social posts and worked with large datasets for data visualizations.
From 2016 to 2019, Yang served as a Software Developer at Polly, initially as a consultant and then as the first employee. They contributed to building the core functionality of the product, including surveys and website refreshes, and worked on web app and platform integrations. They took a break from October 2017 to July 2018 for other projects.
In 2020, Yang joined Territory Foods as a Frontend Developer, where they helped architect and build an e-commerce funnel and customer-facing pages using technologies such as Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Cloudflare Workers. They also conducted extensive experimentation and testing and collaborated with various team members and customers.
Currently, Yang is working as a Contract Software Engineer at Groundswell, starting in 2022.
Throughout their career, Yang has showcased their expertise in designing and developing user interfaces, integrating front-end applications, and utilizing various technologies and tools.
Tianhe Yang completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Rice University from 2005 to 2008. Following this, from 2008 to 2009, Tianhe attended the University of Michigan, where no degree was obtained, focusing on the field of study in Optics.
