Matthias Heiden

Senior Scientist Spectroscopy & Chemometrics at tsenso

Matthias Heiden has a long and varied work experience. Matthias began their career in 1981 as a Research Fellow at CERN. In 1984, they moved to Berkeley Lab as a Staff Scientist. In 1987, they took on the role of Engineering Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation. In 1996, they continued in a similar role at IBM. In 1999, they became the CTO and Co-Founder of Servicefactory AG. In 2003, they became the Chief Engineering Officer at EnOcean GmbH, where they worked on energy harvesting wireless technology. In 2012, they became a Consultant, providing project management for innovative technology start-ups. From 2015 to 2019, they worked at FreshDetect GmbH as Principal Technical Advisor and CTO. Most recently, in 2020, they joined tsenso GmbH as a Senior Scientist Spectroscopy & Chemometrics.

Matthias Heiden began their educational journey in 1972 when they enrolled at Heidelberg University in Germany to pursue a Diploma in Physics with a focus in Elementary Particle Physics and mathematics. Matthias graduated in 1977 with the degree and proceeded to earn a Dr.rer.nat. in Elementary Particle Physics at the same university, which they completed in 1982. In July 2020, Heiden obtained a certification in Excel: PivotTables for Beginners from LinkedIn.
