Jimmy Phua

Jimmy Phua has a strong background in finance and accounting, with over 20 years of experience in various roles. Jimmy started their career as an Auditor at Spicer Openheim Chartered Accountant in 1986. Jimmy then served as a Senior Accountant at Astec Malaysia Sdn Bhd from 1988 to 1992, where they focused on accounting reporting and cost analysis. Following that, they joined Wasco Energy Group of Companies as a Manager, Finance & Treasury, where they managed accounting, banking and financing functions, as well as provided costing and accounting information for strategic decision making. In 2012, they became a Financial Controller at Sentoria Group Berhad, where they coordinated the set up and improvement of the resort accounting system and provided budgetary control and accounting information for decision making. Jimmy then joined Tunas Capital Group in 2013 as a Group Financial Controller, overseeing financial management, internal controls, and treasury functions. Currently, they work for TT Electronics Plc as their Finance Director in Malaysia, responsible for financial accounting, business analysis, strategic planning, treasury, IT, and cost management functions.

Jimmy Phua completed their education in a chronological order:

- From 1979 to 1982, they attended Technical Institute Kuantan and earned a degree called STPM in the field of Science and economics.

- Concurrently from 1983 to 1986, they pursued a Chartered Management Accountant degree from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with a field of study in Management Accountancy.

- In the same period, they also pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a specialization in Management Accounting from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology.
