Simon Schaefer

Simon Schaefer is currently a PhD student at Technische Universität München, focusing on the intersection of robotics and 3D vision, with research interests in areas such as 3D human pose estimation, visual navigation, and computationally efficient learning. Previous experiences include research internships at Meta and Apple, where Simon worked on world-modeling and 3D generation of human head avatars, respectively. Simon has also held internships in reputable companies such as Amazon Robotics and Volkswagen AG, focusing on topics like indoor localization and long-term pedestrian prediction. An academic background includes a Master's degree in Robotics from ETH Zürich and the National University of Singapore, as well as a research stint at Stanford University.
