Mike Tamir, PhD, currently serves as Chief ML Scientist and SVP of ML/AI Engineering at Tubi, while also advising at Glasswing Ventures and holding a position as Continuing Non-Senate Faculty at the University of California, Berkeley. Previous roles include Machine Learning Discipline Lead at Shopify, Chief ML Scientist at Susquehanna International Group, and Head of ML Data Science at Uber. With extensive expertise in machine learning applications and algorithm development, Mike has led teams across multiple organizations, overseeing projects in natural language processing, data science applications, and AI product strategy. Academic credentials comprise a PhD in Philosophy with a focus on modeling applications in General Relativity and Quantum Statistical Mechanics, alongside advanced degrees in mathematics and theoretical physics from the University of Pittsburgh and Columbia University.
