Senior Counsel, Original Content at Tubi

Richard Siegmeister has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Richard worked at Tubi as a Senior Counsel, Original Content, where they were responsible for structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements related to the development and production of original content. Richard also evaluated rights and provided expertise on talent unions, labor and employment law, and intellectual property law.

Prior to Tubi, Siegmeister served as Senior Legal Counsel at AMC Networks, where they drafted and finalized agreements for WE tv, ALLBLK, and IFC Films. Richard negotiated agreements for non-scripted programming and talent agreements for WE tv, and scripted programming agreements for ALLBLK.

Before their role at AMC Networks, Siegmeister worked as an Attorney at Axiom, providing in-house counsel services to EPIX. Richard drafted various agreements, including master agreements, creative services agreements, and NDAs.

Richard also held the position of Senior Counsel / Music Attorney at Viacom, where they served as music counsel for Nickelodeon productions. Their responsibilities involved negotiating and drafting music-related agreements, including composer-producer, publishing, and label waiver agreements.

Siegmeister's earlier experiences include roles at WNET, where they worked in Business Development & Distribution and as Senior Counsel, negotiating agreements for original television productions and acquiring option rights. Richard also worked at Sesame Workshop in various legal and talent management positions, negotiating contracts, reviewing scripts, and managing talent payments.

In addition, Siegmeister gained experience at Jim Henson Company, handling talent payments. Overall, their work experience demonstrates a strong background in entertainment law, contract negotiation, and intellectual property.

Richard Siegmeister attended Cherry Hill High School East from 1981 to 1985. Richard then pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Film/TV at New York University from 1985 to 1989. Continuing their education, Richard obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from Fordham University School of Law, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications in "Difficult Conversations: Talking about Race at Work" and "Inclusive Mindset for Committed Allies" from LinkedIn, in October 2020.
