Afzal Rahman is an experienced policy and research professional with a strong background in pay and employment issues. Currently serving as a Policy Officer at TUC since June 2020, Afzal previously held multiple roles at Citizens Advice from September 2015 to June 2020, including Senior User Researcher and Senior Policy Researcher focused on Families, Welfare, and Work. Prior experience also includes positions as a Researcher and Labour Market Research Assistant at the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion, and Graduate Management Trainee at Basildon Council. Afzal started a career in public service as an intern in the Office of Rushanara Ali MP at the House of Commons. Educationally, Afzal holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Bristol, obtained between 2008 and 2011.
