Sam Rugel

Sam Rugel, PE, has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Director of System Control & Reliability at Tucson Electric Power since October 2013, following roles as Supervisor of Balancing Authority and various engineering and supervisory positions since December 1999. Prior to this, Sam held the position of Electrical Supervisor at ASARCO and worked as a Substation Engineer at NV Energy. Sam's engineering career began as a Student Engineer while earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Arizona, completed in 1988.
