Alfred Chien

Alfred Chien has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Alfred is currently a School Board Trustee at the Vancouver School Board since November 2022. Prior to this role, they were a Co-Founder of TUEX International Education, starting in May 2019. Alfred also served as an Advisor at AdvisoryCloud from May 2019 to May 2020. Additionally, Alfred held the position of Chief Marketing Officer & VP of Operations at Brimming Capital Inc. from January 2018 to April 2019.

Earlier in their career, Alfred worked at CIBC as a Senior Private Banking Advisor from August 2014 to December 2017. Alfred was a Financial Planner at Bank of Montreal from January 2012 to July 2014. Prior to that, they founded and managed YT Tutoring Center from January 2001 to December 2012.

Alfred's experience includes roles at HSBC as a Premier Relationship Manager from January 2009 to January 2012, a Premier Officer from February 2008 to January 2009, and as an Account Manager from February 2007 to February 2008. Alfred also worked at CIBC as a Personal Banker from November 2005 to February 2007. Throughout their career, Alfred demonstrated strong leadership, financial advisory, marketing, and relationship management skills.

Alfred Chien has a diverse education history. In 1999, they began their studies at The University of British Columbia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics. Alfred completed this degree program in 2004.

Afterwards, in 2005, Alfred enrolled in the Canadian Securities Institute, where they obtained a Certificate of Achievement in Financial Counselling. This certification focused on the field of Investments and Securities. Additionally, they obtained several other certifications related to wealth management and financial practices, including the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course, the Canadian Securities Course, and the Wealth Management Essentials.

In 2018, Alfred attended Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, for the Blockchain Strategy Programme, earning a certification in Blockchain Strategy. Alfred also obtained certifications in Venture Finance Programme and Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme from the same institution, respectively in 2020 and 2018.

Finally, it should be noted that Alfred holds the designation of Qualified Associate Financial Planner, awarded by FP Canada. Unfortunately, the specific completion date for this certification is not provided.
