Astha Shah

Astha Shah is a dedicated and accomplished student at Tufts University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Currently, Astha serves as a Teaching Assistant for Data Structures and works as a Machine Learning Research Assistant at Hughes Lab, developing a model for detecting physical sense-making in student physics explanations. As a participant in the VERSE Scholar Program, Astha conducts research in limited data tomography and has been recognized for contributions with an acceptance to the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference 2024. Previously, Astha was a Research Fellow at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, co-developing a language assistant, and a Data Science Research Assistant at the Data Intensive Studies Center, where skills in data annotation and natural language processing were applied to the Flint Water Crisis.
