Steve Miller

Steve Miller has worked in the IT industry since 2002. Steve started as an Adjunct Faculty at Baker College, where they were awarded a Lighthouse award for creative use of blended instruction to run two classes simultaneously. In 2003, they became the Technology Director at Marion Public Schools, where they used PHP and MySQL to develop a dynamic schedule for underperforming students and assisted in the ISD wide implementation of Microsoft Class Server. In 2005, they became a Systems Programmer at Ferris State University, where they were the technical team lead for the implementation of a new primary e-Learning application, Blackboard Vista Enterprise. In 2008, they became a Security Engineer and Systems Administrator at Gordon Food Service. In 2016, they became a DevOps Engineer at Blue Medora, where they were the primary DevOps Engineer on the SaaS application platform, Bindplane. Steve migrated the SaaS application to Google Cloud platform, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure management. In 2019, they became a Sr Software Engineer at Plex Systems, Inc., where they were responsible for development and operation of production infrastructure and site reliability engineering for Plex’s SaaS offering. In 2021, they became a Sr. DevOps Engineer at Tuition.io.

Steve Miller attended Ferris State University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. In August 2021, they obtained a Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from The Linux Foundation.
