Professor Jarvis has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and master’s and doctoral degrees from Princeton University, all in mathematics.
In 1995 he received a National Science Foundation CAREER award. Professor Jarvis’s research interests include algebraic geometry and symmetry—especially symmetries arising in the geometry of high-energy physics.
In addition to his work with Tula, Professor Tyler J. Jarvis is a faculty member at BYU and is a former chair of the university’s Department of Mathematics. He is a co-director of the National Science Foundation-supported BYU Center for Undergraduate Research in Mathematics—and is Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Utah-Idaho Council on Problem Gambling.
