Tulane Hillel
Gary Brandt currently serves as the Assistant Director at Tulane Hillel, a position held since July 2022. Prior experience includes leadership roles such as Director of Youth and Family Engagement at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center (February 2019 - June 2022) and Chief Operating Officer at Trybal Gatherings (June 2018 - February 2019). Gary has also directed the Boulder Jewish Teen Initiative at Jewish Student Connection (September 2014 - June 2018) and held senior assistant director responsibilities at URJ Henry S Jacobs Camp (April 2009 - September 2014). Early career experiences include various roles in community service and education, including working as an EMT at Acadian Ambulance and teaching English as a Foreign Language. Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Near Eastern History and Modern Politics from the University of Arizona, as well as experiences studying abroad at Birmingham Southern College and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

Tulane Hillel is a non-profit community center that fosters leadership and community engagement. A leader in entrepreneurial-based programming, Tulane Hillel serves as an incubator and platform for college students to engage in the community, focusing on key issues that need to be addressed. The Tulane Hillel team is a collection of voices, backgrounds, Hebrew School experiences, ambitions and identities. It is important that those who spend their time creating Jewish community are reflective of the broad and diverse demographic that comprise our co-creators.
