Dr. Tina Bynum

Dr. Tina (Markowski) Bynum serves as the Associate Dean of Law & Public Service at Pikes Peak State College since August 2021, leading initiatives focused on student success in Business, Public Service & Social Sciences. Additionally, Dr. Bynum holds several academic positions, including Professor at Western Connecticut State University in Homeland Security, Instructor at Tulane University for Emergency and Disaster Management Education, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus. With significant prior experience as University Program Director and Dean pro tem at Colorado Technical University, Dr. Bynum has a strong background in criminal justice, homeland security, and emergency services. Involved in community service as a volunteer planner for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and the City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management, Dr. Bynum also served on the editorial board of the Journal of Homeland Security Education. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Management in Homeland Security from Colorado Technical University and multiple graduate degrees from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
