MacHelle Hall

Machelle Hall is a dedicated legal professional currently serving as Senior Attorney at the Animal Welfare Institute since September 2024 and holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Animal Law at both LSU Law and Tulane University since January 2020 and January 2019, respectively. Hall has extensive experience in animal law, demonstrated through board membership at Louisiana SPCA since September 2015 and previously as Co-Chair of the Howling Success Committee in 2011. An Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General from September 2019 to September 2024, Hall worked in the State Lands and Natural Resources Section. Additional experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council and working as an Attorney/Instructor at Tulane Environmental Law Clinic from 2011 to 2019. Machelle Hall earned a JD from Tulane University Law School and an M.A. in Nationalism Studies from Central European University, among other academic credentials in law and anthropology.
