Patrick Button is the inaugural Executive Director of the Connolly Alexander Institute for Data Science at Tulane University, leading efforts to enhance data literacy education and analysis within the university and the broader community since June 2022. Additionally, Patrick serves as an Associate Professor and previously as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Tulane University since July 2015, alongside roles as a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Associate at IZA - Institute of Labor Economics. Earlier experience includes a NIH/NIA Postdoctoral Scholar position at the RAND Corporation and pedagogical work at UC Irvine. Patrick earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from UC Irvine and holds a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Regina.
